Doña Aurora Aragon-Quezon a civic leader and First Lady under the Philippine Commonwealth, ( 1888-1949 ) was born on February 19,1888 in Baler, Quezon. She studied at Philippine Normal College.. She was married to former President Manuel L. Quezon. While on her way to Baler, she and her company were ambushed by a group of Hukbalahap in Nueva Ecija on April 28, 1949. In recognition of her achievements, the sub-province of Aurora was established in 1951 and consequently as an independent province on 1979.

Manuel Luis Quezon was born on August 19, 1878 in
Baler,Aurora. He is the second president of the Philippines (november 15,1935-August 1, 1944). Also known as "
Ama ng wikang pambansa " . Here at the park you can also see the vintage car used by our late President Manuel L. Quezon.

This car was especially built by General Motors of America for the late President Manuel L.Quezon. it arrived in the Philippines on November 4, 1937. In 1938 it was turn over to Gen.Douglas Macarthur who used it throughout his tour of duty in the Philippines.

Ermita hill |
The " Ermita hill " is also one of the Tourist spot at Baler, Aurora. It's covers an area of about two hectares overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The above picture shows a history happen called " Tromba Marina " a phenomenal tidal wave on Dec. 27, 1735, which was swept the town of Baler, aurora. The survivors escaped by hiding in the forest of " Ermita hill ". This place became their temporary resettlement.
